Section 1: The Oath

1) To join the Northern Elite Guard, the recruit must indicate his/her willingness to join by agreeing to a Declaration of Loyalty. This Declaration reads as follows:


"I do solemnly declare my Loyalty to the Northern Elite Guard, and I swear to follow the decisions of the Tribe Council as well as play an active role in the organization... I hereby renounce any and all other affiliations for the benefit of NEG. I swear to honorably uphold all requirements and duties asked of me"


The Candidate is now bound to uphold all requirements imposed on a Northern Elite Guard member


2) All members must wear the uniform of [NEG]yourname for in-game play and [NEG]yourname for IRC chat; before their call sign. This stands for "Northern Elite Guard".

Section 2:The Site

A) All members are required to visit the news, members list, and forum sections at least twice a week.
B) All members should be registered on our forum and post at least once a week.

Section 3: Members

A) All members must follow the orders of a higher ranking officer.
B) All members must show respect for other members and other players of the game at all times.
C) Do not get involved in petty fights or lash out at other players.
D) If there is a problem of any kind bring it to the Council. DO NOT take matters into your own hands.
E) If a ranking officer is addressing you pay attention and do not leave until the conversation is over or you are given permission to leave.
F) E-Mail and any other private chats with the Council or other members are considered a private conversation that is not ment for all parties. (exception: The Tribe Leader can ask any member to provide information on topics deemed important or that affect the tribe as a whole.)

Section 4: Tribe Council

A) All Council Members are bound to follow all the codes of conduct.
B) The Tribe Council is to handle situations in a timely and professional manner, Council members are required to bring all situations to the Tribe Leaders attention.
C) The Tribe Leader has the final word regarding any situation or major decision that involve NEG.
D) Meetings will be held on a regular basis it is expected that all Council members be able to attend as many meetings as possible.

Section 5: Gameplay

A) At the end of every mission compliment the other players. GG is a good way to do this which means Good Game.
B) If you are hosting a game:
  • 1) Ask nicely for people to leave the game room.. If the person(s) refuses to leave after asking nicely then remove them.
  • 2) Do not just kick players out of the room because they are slaughtering you. Learn from it and move on. (Also see Section 5 part A)
  • 3) As the host of the game it is your responsibility to act and conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
  • 4) Follow the rules agreed upon by the other players of the game. DO NOT go against those rules.
C) If you are not the host of the game:
  • 1) Show respect to all players in the room including the host.
  • 2) Follow the rules agreed upon by the other players of the game. DO NOT go against those rules.
  • 3) If you don't like how the game is being run then leave in a polite manner.
D) In the mission:
  • 1) All NEG should make the highest ranking NEG member in the mission the commander.(see page 55 in tribes manual)
  • 2) If a command is issued to you by your commander follow it if possible to the best of your ability.
  • 3) Do not shoot other NEG members or teammates unless the server is deathmatch.
E) On IRC:
  • 1) Operator privliges should ONLY go to the highest ranking officer in the chat room.
  • 2) Do not "spam" or "flood" any IRC channel for any reason. repeated more then once every five minutes is considered spam.

F) DO NOT accuse other players of cheating no matter what proof you may have. Bring it to the Council. (See section 3 part D)
G)There is absolutly NO cheating/hacking or other forms of dishonorable action permitted by anyone in NEG.

Section 6: Mailing List

All Members Should follow the Rules below regarding our mailing list:

  • 1) No swearing in any message to the list.
  • 2) Anything that is sent on the mailing list is considered confidential. Do NOT distribute anything from the list.
  • 3) Do not use the list to send spam mail, jokes, or other content not associated with NEG.
  • 4) While using the Mailing List under no circumstances should anything discussed in private (on ICQ or in mailings to YOUR address) be posted without the consent of both parties involved. (Also see: Section 3: part F)

Section 7: Recruiting

You will be added to the members list in a special "probationary" unit. this unit is the recruiting unit. until someone has had a chance to test you and determine if your NEG material you will remain in the recruits unit. after your accecpted from the recruiting unit u can then choose any of the other units to join as long as there is an open space and you pass the test for the unit u wish to join if there is one.. Because u have been added to the recruiting unit this does not mean your a full member of NEG.

you still may add [NEG] to your name however.

Section 8: Team Killing

Team Killing or TK is frowned upon. However NEG members and recruits may defend themselves against team killers that either attack you or other members of NEG. All other players and non-hostiles are to be excluded from attacks. If members find team killers you are encouraged to write down there name, the server ip you last saw them on, and any other information you can gather. Send this info to the Tribe Leader.

Section 9: Inactivity

Members that are inactive will be moved to a reserve unit. You are still a member but your lack of online activity hurts NEG. Members that remain inactive will just be removed from the roster. Recruits that are consistantly inactive will just be removed from the roster.

Members and recruits that show IDLE on the members list will soon be removed. This ensures that NEG has active members and not half a group that remains idle all the time.

Section 10: Resigning from other tribes to join NEG

If your a member of another tribe and you wish to join NEG please do the following:

  • 1) Send an E-Mail to NEG's Tribe Leader with your formal resignation from your current tribe. also send it to the leadership of your current tribe. (put my address in the CC field)
  • Include your current tribes URL so that we may verify that you have been removed from any members roster they might have listed.
  • Include the E-mail address of the leadership of said tribe.
  • Before we add you to NEG's roster and allow access to members only information we WILL verify that you have resigned completely from your former tribe.

All members and Council are bound by the above codes. All codes will be enforced for Internet play ONLY. The Council reserves the right to take diciplinary action against any member of NEG for violating any of the codes of conduct. The decision of the Council is final and can not be disputed.

If you have any questions regarding the codes of conduct direct them towards the Tribe Leader.
